The NIGM is guided by a Board of Regents which consists of golf industry leaders representing all facets of the business from across North America. The group is responsible for establishing the mandate, as well as determining and delivering the curriculum offered in all three Institute Academies. After identifying key learning objectives, the board researches and develops the curriculum, then selects experts to deliver the content. This process ensures that the latest and most relevant issues are covered and that they are presented by experienced and knowledgeable members of the golf industry.
The Institute’s curriculum is founded upon a recognized “body of knowledge” that is applicable to the management and operation of golf facilities. Thus, the Board is expected to maintain the highest possible level of curricula, and to develop practical and professional leadership in the management of the golf industry. Student evaluations, which are conducted annually, have reflected that this approach to enhanced management education is highly effective.
It is the Board’s primary responsibility to communicate appropriate, practicable, and current concepts and best practices, that present opportunities for participating students to improve and enhance their facilities, their staff and their management abilities.
